Nebraska Lawmakers Consider New DUI Laws

Nebraska State Legislators are considering a significant overhaul to Nebraska’s DUI Laws.  The laws, if passed, would encourage the use of interlock devices in vehicles of those convicted of DUI offenses.  An interlock device is installed in vehicles of persons convicted of DUI.  The device requires the driver to breathe into a mouthpiece before allowing the vehicle to start.  If the device detects alcohol over a specific level, the vehicle’s engine will be prevented from starting.
